Respite Services Providers & Habilitation Providers – aka Special Needs Companions

We’re hiring direct care providers for respite and habilitation providers. What is a direct care provider exactly? It’s essentially a special needs companion.

Respite care - what is it?

Providing respite care is a form of “babysitting” someone with special needs. You would interact with them in their home or in the community, allowing a period of rest for their family or caregiver. Respite care pay ranges between $13.85 - $14.50/hr.

Habilitative care - what is it?

Habilitation is a form of tutoring for those with special needs. Habilitation provides higher pay than respite care due to the required goal implementation and data collection you will be required to do on the job.

You can help a child develop and improve skills for daily living in their home or with them in the community. This may include things like helping them develop skills or functions that they were incapable of developing on their own, and helping them develop their social skills.

Because of the requirements to collect data while on the job, as well as the tutoring aspect, habilitation pays more than respite, ranging between $14 - $16/hr.

If you want to:

A) help someone with special needs

B) help families take a break from giving care

C) get paid to make a positive impact

And you enjoy:

  • Working with those with special needs

  • A flexible work schedule

  • Dictating the number of hours you work per week

  • You must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the U.S.

There is a high demand for providers like you. Families in need of services are located throughout the valley, which means there could be a special child in your neighborhood waiting to meet you. As the number of children diagnosed with autism grows daily, so does the need for quality providers.
